Arrest made in Osceola

On July 24, 2024, Osceola Police Officer Tucker observed a subject on a motorcycle traveling 90 miles per hour in a 65 miles per hour zone on Highway 13.

Officer Tucker attempted to conduct a traffic stop for the subject on the motorcycle. The driver of the motorcycle then pulled into Casey's and stopped. The driver revved up the engine twice and then took off at a high rate of speed. 

The driver of the motorcycle drove upwards of 90 miles per hour in City Streets while being pursued by Officer Tucker. The driver then attempted to make a right turn and laid their motorcycle down. The driver then took off on foot through yards, fields, and over fences. Officer Tucker had left her patrol vehicle and pursued the subject on foot. Officer Tucker attempted to tase the subject but was unsuccessful. 

Officer Tucker continued to pursue the subject on foot until the subject fell onto Truman Road. Officer Tucker was then able to apprehend the subject and take them into custody. Officer Tucker also located a pipe on the driver that field tested positive for methamphetamine. 

The Driver was identified as Christopher Bagby out of Shell City, Missouri. Christopher was charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, felony driving while revoked/suspended, and felony resisting arrest. Those charges were sent to prosecuting attorney Daniel Dysart. A warrant with a bond of $15,000.00 cash or surety came down for Christopher. Christopher was also issued citations for no insurance, failure to register a vehicle, possession of drug paraphernalia, and speed. The citations will be sent to prosecuting attorney Joshua Jones.
