A caller is stating they are a representative with the Miami County Sheriff’s Office. They state the person they are calling has a warrant for failing to appear for jury duty or other reasons.
They tell the person to go to a kiosk to deposit money to clear the warrant. This is a scam. Anytime you get a call from someone claiming to be law enforcement and wanting money that is a good indication the call is a scam.
We will never call and ask for money, or tell anyone they have a warrant. If you receive this call, just hang up.
