Obituary - Gary Ray Minich

Gary Ray Minich, age 57 of Clinton, Missouri, formerly of Grain Valley, Missouri passed away on Friday, July 26, 2024 at St. Luke's Hospice House of Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral services will be Friday, August 2nd 2024 at 11:00 AM at the Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri. 

Family will receive friends from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the chapel. Burial will follow in the Englewood Cemetery, Clinton, Missouri. Memorial contributions in Gary's name may be made to the Clinton Animal Rescue Endeavor (C.A.R.E.) or the Clinton Christian Church and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Born in Kansas City, Missouri, on March 24, 1967, Gary spent his childhood in Clinton, graduating from Clinton High School in 1985 with a passion for cars. He attended mechanic school in Wichita, Kansas, and worked in the automotive industry until he suffered his first stroke in 2015.

Gary was actively involved with the Lake Lotawana Boy Scouts Troop 251, serving as a leader for many years and spending many summers at the H Roe Bartle Scout Reservation. He was extremely proud that all three of his sons became Eagle Scouts.

Gary had a passion for food, particularly grilling and smoking meat, and he enjoyed participating in the American Royal BBQ Competition with friends, where they won several awards. He also loved spending time with his son Gavin, teaching him about cars, motors, and John Deere tractors, as well as sharing their love for Marvel movies.

In addition to his many hobbies, Gary worked as a Karaoke DJ for Carrieoke Productions for nearly 20 years in the Kansas City area, where he enjoyed singing and entertaining people.

Gary was a devoted son, taking exceptional care of his parents and maintaining a very close relationship with his mother, Sharon. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Gary is survived by his mother, Sharon Minich; his son, Gavin Minich; his stepsons, Garret Mayse (wife Mysti Mayse) and Grant Mayse (wife Shelby Mayse); and his former wife, Tiffani Sterling. He is also survived by his Uncle Jim and Aunt Judy Barnes of Clinton and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Don Minich.
