Officer involved crash south of Rich Hill

Emergency units are on scene of an accident at the 118 mile marker. Deputy was blocking a lane protecting the Rich Hill Fire Department who was extinguishing a grass fire in median. Shortly after a vehicle struck the Deputy’s patrol vehicle from the rear. After the impact the van burst into flames. 

One subject, from the other vehicle, is being life flighted to Kansas City. Multiple passengers are being transported via ambulance from the van. The deputy is being transported by patrol vehicle to the Emergency Room.
