She is always taking the time to work on things she feels she needs to improve on and also willing to help her teammates. She most recently placed 4th at the conference golf tournament. Harlee’s work ethic and wanting to succeed separate her from the crowd.” Harlee participates in golf, basketball and softball at Adrian.
We asked Harlee what she thought the most difficult part of being a student athlete is and she stated “balancing everything, with schoolwork, practice and tournaments”. We asked her who her role model is when it comes to sports and she said Coach Jill Jacobs. She stated it’s not just because I play basketball for her, but she treats everyone like you should. She always encourages and is supportive and lets you know she’s there.
She is also a strong Christian and that is important to me as I want to be as well.” When we asked Harlee what she feels it takes to become an elite athlete she stated “you have to have discipline in everything. Even if you take one day off there is someone else who isn’t and is using that time to get better than you are. You have to try to do everything you can to be the best you can.”
Harlee is undecided on her future plans after graduation and will either be attending college to major in exercise science and nutrition or she might be looking into enlisting into the military.” It was a pleasure talking with Harlee and we wish her and her team the best of luck as they compete at Districts.
