Warsaw man arrested after pursuit

Yesterday, Warrensburg Police Department Sgt. Adam Wade and his partner, K9 Negan, assisted Deputies with the successful apprehension of a suspect after a car chase the night prior.

Deputies responded to reports of a man walking in the 1200 block of NW 400, closely matching the description of the armed suspect from the pursuit, who fled on foot the previous night.

The suspect, identified as Dustin Street from Warsaw, Missouri had an active warrant out of Benton County for failure to appear on the original charge of Delivery of a controlled substance.

Upon Deputies' arrival, Street fled under a bridge and into a creek, ignoring commands. Sgt. Wade and K9 Negan were requested to respond, K9 Negan tracked Street through the creek and dense brush, directing Deputies to his location. Following repeated commands, Street surrendered to Deputies without further issues.

Street received a medical evaluation by EMS on site before being taken to the hospital for medical clearance.

A warrant was issued today for Dustin Street with the following charges: Unlawful Possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance and Resisting/Interfering with arrest for a felony with a $15,000.00 cash only bond.

Thank you, Warrensburg Police Department, for your assistance.
