Obituary - Don Logan Campbell

Don Logan Campbell, 85, of Peculiar, Missouri, passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 13, 2024, surrounded by his family. A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 1:00 PM at First Baptist Church in Peculiar, MO.

Don was born June 21, 1939 in Erick, Oklahoma, a son of John Alexander and Leta Mildred (Logan) Campbell. He spent his early years in Erick before moving to Missouri, where he graduated from Carthage Missouri High School in 1957. After high school, Don attended the Electronics Institute in Kansas City, Missouri. Don was united in marriage to the Love of his life, Ruby Ellen Flanary, on November 26, 1959, in Kansas City, MO.

He joined the United States Air Force in August 1960 where he attained the rank of Airman 1st Class and was an instructor in Classified Electronics Field. After his honorable discharge in August 1964, Don, Ruby, and their children made their home in Peculiar, Missouri. He worked as an Electronic Technician for 35 years at Allied Signal in Kansas City, before retiring in 1999. Don was a member of the Machinist Union 314, the First Baptist Church in Peculiar, and was a dedicated Ham Radio Operator. He was an avid bird watcher, loved traveling with his family, and all things radio-controlled airplanes.

Don was preceded in death by his son, Don Alan Campbell; his parents; and a sister, JoAnn Pettyjohn. He is survived by his wife, Ruby Ellen Campbell of Peculiar, MO; daughter, Cathy Ann Campbell of Archie, MO; daughter, Debbie Schnorf of Harrisonville, MO; eight grandchildren: Tiffany, Christen, and Amber, Marcus, Trenton, Kevin, Justin, and Branden; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and many other relatives and friends.
