Jimmie F. Wieberg, 85 of Harrisonville, Missouri, passed away Monday, November 18, 2024 at St. Joseph Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. Services will be held at a later date.
Jim was born on March 18, 1939 in Moore, Oklahoma, the oldest son of Joseph Louis and Edith Luella (Norton) Wieberg. The family moved to Kansas City during Jim’s childhood where in 1956 he graduated from Ruskin High School in Kansas City. Jim began his career with the A&P Grocery Store chain as a stock boy, moved through bookkeeping positions into management of many stores in the Kansas City area. After leaving the grocery business, Jim moved to Harrisonville in 1987. He and his brother, Cecil, opened a small tire shop, Tire Doctor, on South Troost Ave. in Kansas City. Jim and Cecil had a successful run until they decided to close the business in 1995. Never one to sit still, Jim started, Custom Cutters Mowing Service, and mowed many yards in the Harrisonville area for over twenty-five years. Jim was united in marriage to Viola Kirk Weddington on May 26, 1990 in Harrisonville. They were founding members of the Abiding Love Baptist Church also in Harrisonville.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Carol Black; his second wife, Dorothy Wieberg; brother, Cecil Wayne Wieberg; and daughter-in-law, Tomi-Joe Elizabeth Wieberg. He is survived by his wife of thirty-three years, Viola Wieberg, Harrisonville, MO; his seven children: Beverly Haulmark (Bill), St. Petersburg, Florida; Michael Wieberg, Hackett, Arkansas; Karen DuVall-Ward, Kansas City, MO; Susan Wieberg, Hackett, AR; Pamela Engstrom, Richmond, Kentucky; Carl Wieberg, Pleasanton, Kansas; and Jamie Rusconi (Brad), Spring Hill, KS; two step-sons, John Weddington (Diane), Lee Summit, MO; and Bill Weddington (Angie), Anaconda, Montana; 21 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; and 8 great-great-grandchildren.
