Margaret Ruth (Rapp) Sunderland of Peculiar, MO passed away peacefully on February 15, 2025, at Appleton City Manor. She was the daughter of Alfred Rapp and Norma (Fricke) Rapp. She was born on July 2, 1939, and confirmed on March 29, 1953, at Zion Lutheran.
Margaret spent her younger years at the family farm near Rockville, MO. She attended Rich Hill High School and graduated in 1957. After graduation, she moved to Kansas City, MO, where she met Donald Sunderland. They joined in marriage on November 9, 1958, and enjoyed 61 years of marriage until Donald passed in June of 2020.
Margaret spent many years working for Goodyear, eventually retiring as office manager.
Margaret is preceded in death by her husband Donald, one brother Lawrence and two sisters, Velma and Helen.
Margaret is survived by one daughter, Nancy Skiles and husband Charles of Harrisonville MO: three grandsons, Kyle Oexman and wife Amanda of Rockville, MO, Koby Oexman of Peculiar, MO., and Kristopher Oexman and wife Kayla of Montrose, MO; three great grandchildren, Jaxon, Addison and Jenna along with many nieces and nephews that will deeply miss her.
The family suggests memorial donations to Zion Lutheran Church in lieu of flowers and may be left with them on service day.
The family also wishes to express their gratitude to Appleton City Manor and St. Croix Hospice for their care and support during this difficult time.
