From his time in the State Auditor's Office to the years he led the state as Governor to his years of service in the nation's capital as a United States Senator, Kit Bond embodied the ideals of selfless service and worked tirelessly to represent and protect the values and interests of Missouri citizens.
We owe him a debt of gratitude for the incredible achievements he was able to accomplish for our state during his 40-year career. My deepest condolences to his family as we mourn his loss.
