The Student of the Month for April/May is Senior, Kadi Kelly, the daughter of Kristy Diggs and Cole Gabriel. This month's special theme is "Perseverance and Integrity". Kadi currently participates in Track, and also VoTech Health Occupations. Her future plans are to attend Missouri State University and major in psychology. Kadi’s statement of inspiration is that she would like to say "Live your life how you want to, and don’t let someone else control a life they are not living."
The Ballard staff have said the following about Kadi:
"Kadi Kelly has proven to be the epitome of perseverance and a class act example of "getting the job done". She demonstrates loyalty to her sisters and is a loyal friend, through and through. It has been a joy to watch Kadi find her confidence and speak up for herself. As she approaches leaving high school and taking on the world, I know she has what it takes to succeed.“
“Kadi Kelly is resilient and determined. I am certain she will do whatever she has set her mind to accomplish. It was a joy having her in class.“
“Kadi has demonstrated resilience and perseverance, especially in the most recent past. She has faced some hurdles and still found some humor in something tragic. From her experiences, I think she has learned what it means to be strong for someone else and to put someone else's needs before her own. I look forward to hearing about her successes as she starts a new chapter in her life later this fall. Keep up the hard work and persist even when things get tough.“
“Kadi Kelly is strong, resilient, and dedicated. It has been an absolute pleasure watching her grow into the beautiful, confident young woman she is today. I look forward to seeing all the amazing accomplishments she is going to achieve in her future."
For Kadi’s hard work in school, she has received a certificate of recognition from the Adrian Optimist Club and a $20.00 gift certificate to be used in Adrian.
Presenting the certificate is Senior Class Sponsor, Sarah Russell.
