Richard was born in Moline, IL, in 1951 to Vernon and Evelyn Bergstrand (Clarke). He worked at Payless Cashways for most of his career in sales before retiring and moving to Columbia, MO, to be near his children and grandchildren. Richard enjoyed watching his grandchildren play sports and throwing pitches in wiffle ball while they hit homeruns.
Richard was preceded in death by his son, Jason; both of his parents; and brother, Ronnie (Marcia). He is survived by his wife, Dee; daughter, Tammy (Brock); son, James (Janet); 7 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers: Tom (Julie) and Jack (Cynthia); and 7 nieces and nephews.
