Escaped inmate, convicted murderer and rapist Grant Hardin who once served as the police chief in Gateway, Arkansas, was captured yesterday afternoon less than 2 miles from the state prison in Calico Rock where he escaped.Hardin has been the focus of a nationwide manhunt for the past two weeks as he gained notoriety as the subject of the 2023 documentary “Devil in the Ozarks’’ about his 1997 rape of a school teacher and 2017 murder of a water department worker.
The investigation continues as Hardin remains in custody following his escape May 25th dressed as a prison guard.
