Obituary - Clyde William “Bill” Hickman, Jr

Clyde William “Bill” Hickman, Jr., 86, Deerfield, MO passed away on Tuesday, June 10th, 2025, at Nevada Regional Medical Center in Nevada. Bill was born March 9, 1939 in Sheldon, MO, the son of Clyde & Lydia Louise (Tyree) Hickman. He married Argie Faye Shields on March 15, 1958 and she survives of the home.

     Following Bill’s graduation from Sheldon High School, he served in the US Army. He was a retired airplane and helicopter pilot for both the United States Army and the Kansas City Police Department. Bill loved to buy and work on vintage Ford tractors to use around the farm despite how many times grandma told him they didn’t need anymore. He loved to paint, EVERYTHING.  Bill was a member of the Masonic Lodge, Nevada, MO & Richards, MO.

     In addition to his wife Argie, he is survived by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren:   Son, William Mark Hickman (Connie), Florida, grandson, Billy Mark Hickman, Ft. Scott, KS, Granddaughter – Lisa Gartenbush, Florida, Granddaughter – Elizabeth Aman, Florida, Granddaughter – Robin Hickman, Florida, Daughter – Rhonda Williams (Eugene), North Carolina, Grandson – Patrick Williams, Denmark, Great-grandchildren, Denmark, Grandson – Chistopher Williams, North Carolina, Great-grandchildren, North Carolina, Daughter – JoAnn Luther-Carby, Springfield, MO, Granddaughter – Ashley Hensley (Bruce, Jr.), Nevada, MO, Great-grandson – Bryce Hensley, Nevada, MO, Great-granddaughter – Brynn Hensley, Nevada, MO, Great-grandson – Bryker Hensley, Nevada, MO, Great-granddaughter – Brystol Hensley, Nevada, MO,       Granddaughter – Courtney Smith (Thad), Nevada, MO,            Great-granddaughter – Brooklyn Kutina-Smith, Nevada, MO, Great-granddaughter – Taytum Smith, Nevada, MO, Great-grandson – Thayne Smith, Nevada, MO, Sister – Shirley Cooper, Wichita, KS, and other Nieces & Nephews.

     Grandpa Hickman’s love for his wife, grandchildren and great-grandchildren was truly beyond words and they will miss him greatly.

    A celebration of life will be announced by the family at a later date courtesy Ferry Funeral Home.
