A special day for Bates County Circuit Clerk Shelli White

Graduation Day for Shelli & Belgian

Today we celebrate a team that has truly come full circle.
Shelli White and Belgian (“Bel”) officially graduated as a KSDS facility dog team — and what makes this moment so special is that Shelli once raised Bel as a puppy. From playful beginnings in the Bates County Courthouse to focused training and now professional partnership, Bel has grown from a silly pup into a steady, compassionate companion ready to serve.
As Circuit Clerk for the State of Missouri, Shelli’s vision for Bel is powerful: to bring comfort and calm to those facing some of life’s most difficult moments. Whether sitting beside a victim testifying in court, greeting visitors with a gentle tail wag, or offering a quiet presence during stressful days, Bel is already making a difference.
Shelli puts it best:
“These dogs are a gift. What a blessing to see a silly puppy grow into this great work companion.”
We are so proud of this remarkable team and the journey that brought them here. Congratulations, Shelli and Bel — your partnership will change lives in ways both big and small, every single day.
