Larry E. Zent, 80, of Harrisonville, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2026, at his home. No services are scheduled at this time.
Born in Springfield, MO, on January 5, 1946, to Clio Nevin and Reta Marie (Young) Zent, Larry brought warmth and kindness into the lives of all who knew him. Larry grew up in Springfield before moving to Harrisonville in 1960, where he graduated from Harrisonville High School with the Class of 1965. After a brief period away, he returned to Harrisonville in 1978, where he became a cherished member of the community. In his youth, Larry made a noble decision to serve his country; he enlisted in both the Air Force and Army, as a reservist before his discharge in 1986.
On October 1, 1977, Larry married Joyce Robinett in Kansas City, MO, forming a bond that would last a lifetime. Larry later found his calling as an electrician at Honeywell, dedicating over 22 years to the industry. He retired in 2010, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and dedication.
A devoted member of Faith Baptist Church, Larry served as a deacon, embodying the values of faith and community service. Throughout his life, he touched many hearts with his compassion, wisdom, and unmatched sense of humor.
Larry is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his beloved spouse, Joyce Zent, of the home; his brother, Garry Zent, of Butler, MO; and many friends.
