Ronald “Darin” Wainscott, 42, of Butler died February 28, 2013. He was born April 6, 1970, at Bates County Memorial Hospital, to Ronald M. Wainscott and Sharon E. Everett. He was educated at Butler Elementary School and Butler High School and spent his senior year as a CEO student at Osage Valley Electric Cooperative. After graduation, Darin joined his brother Danny in partnership of Wainscott Bros. Farms, raising cattle and growing row crops.
On June 6, 1992, he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart, Annie Strobach. Into this union, they were blessed with two beautiful children, Lauren Jane and Garrett Boone.
Darin began his career at Osage Valley in 1988. He progressed from a member of the brush crew to lineman, then to member of the staking engineering department, and then materials clerk. In 2012 he was promoted to Operations Manager. He would have completed 25 years of service in June. He was active in FFA and 4-H, showing steers and heifers, as well as his favorite horses Poco and Bridget. He was an active community member, serving on the Butler R-V school board, being a member of the Butler Bear Backers, and he was on the finance committee at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. Through the organizations he was involved in, he enjoyed frying fish at the Catholic Church fish fries, and he played a large role in the building of the Butler Bears new football complex.
Darin was a devout member of the Catholic faith. His greatest passions were watching his children in sporting events and horse shows. He was proud of Lauren for never missing a game of volleyball or basketball. There was a special sparkle in his eye when watching Lauren ride in competition. And he was equally proud of Garret for going out for football and his involvement in high school theatre productions. He loved taking Garrett hunting and chasing that big buck. He was a devoted husband, father, uncle, son and friend and was known by a number of various terms of endearment, including Darwood, Opie, Damnit Darin, My Little Red-faced Buddy and, to Annie, the Love of my Life.
Darin and Annie were also in a partnership raising quarter horses with mother Sharon, under the brand W.E. Ranch Quarter Horses. The entire family shared a passion for showing horses, and Darin cherished the friends they made in the Missouri Paint Horse Club.
He is preceded in death by two sets of grandparents, Frank and Mildred Miller, Arthur and Ruth Wainscott and brother in law, Ted Strobach. He leaves behind beloved wife Annie, his daughter Lauren, son Garrett, mother Sharon Everett and step father Tommy, father Ron and wife Erma, one brother Danny and wife Jenny, nephew Kody, nieces Kyla and Kara Chandler, brother and sister in law Scott and Robin Strobach, nieces Allison, Emily, Maddy and Valerie Strobach, brother and sister in law Kathie and Mike Stuckenschneider, nephews Andrew, Bryce, Trey and Kyle Stuckenschneider, brother in laws Thad Strobach and Chris and Jarrah Strobach, and four step sisters, Michelle Conley and husband Jay, Rhonda Everett, Gayle Perryman and husband Robert, Linda Cumpton and husband Levon, and step brothers Brett Everett and wife Stacey and Gene Morris and wife Brandy.
