Flash Food Drive tonight in Ballard



Friday Night Lights at this evenings home games. Lady Bulldogs take the court at 5:30 with Bulldogs to follow. Also it's the "Flash Food Drive" so bring a canned food to the game this evening. All the donated items will stay in our Bulldog community! Their will also be an Angel tree for anyone interested. See you tonight! Once a Bulldog, Always a Bulldog!!!!




Nevada Police Department Arrest Subject with Parole Warrant & Seize Drugs and Money

The Nevada Police Department are currently conducting an investigation in regards to a narcotics violation that occurred in the early morning hours on December 9, 2016.

On 12/9/16 around 2:00 in the morning Nevada Police received a call of a subject that had been inside a vehicle for several hours, and needed to leave the closed business lot of 201 W Austin Blvd.
A patrol officer arrived on scene and located the vehicle in question. Inside, the officer observed a known male subject. The male became uncooperative with the officer and gave him a wrong name, but the officer knew the male subject from prior law enforcement contacts.
It was discovered that the male subject had a felony parole warrant for his arrest. Officers attempted to take into custody the male subject, but he pulled away in an attempt to escape, but was unsuccessful. After a brief struggle officers were able to place the male suspect into custody at that time.
During the investigation officers located a large sum of money on the subject. Also during the investigation officers located a large rock of suspected methamphetamine, and other drug related items.
The suspected methamphetamine will be sent to the Missouri State Highway Patrol laboratory for further analysis.
The suspect was identified as Kansas City resident, 23 year old, Dallas Stanart. He was transported to the Vernon County Jail on a parole violation with no bond.
At the conclusion of the investigation Nevada Police will submit further charges to the Vernon County Prosecutor’s Office for review on this matter.

Obituary - Gerald D. McBeth

Gerald D. McBeth 75 formerly of Nevada, Missouri passed away Friday November 25, 2016 at St. Lukes Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.

Mr. McBeth was a retried Vernon County Associate Circuit Court Judge. 

A celebration and memorial service is to be scheduled next Summer in Nevada. 

Memorials either to the Shriners Children's Hospital, Tampa, Florida, or the Vernon County Adult Recovery Court are suggested.



Nevada man injured in Greene County Fatality Accident

A 46 year old Nevada, Missouri man was injured in a two vehicle fatality accident on Thursday afternoon around 3:00pm on Farm Road 104 around five miles Southwest of Willard, Missouri in Greene County (Springfield area).

The Missouri State Highway Patrol in Greene County says Rosco L. Choate of Nevada, Missouri sustained moderate injures and was transported to Cox South Hospital in Springfield after the accident that occurred when the West-bound 2006 Dodge Caravan with a unknown driver crossed the centerline of the road and hit an East-bound 2008 Chevrolet HHR, driven by 41-year-old Jill Morrison, of Willard, Missouri.
Jill Morrison was flown to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri where she was pronounced dead shortly before 6:30 p.m.
Three other people were hurt in this accident 38-year-old Billie Howard, of Walnut Grove, Missouri sustained moderate injuries in this accident and she was transported by ambulance to Cox South Hospital in Springfield, Missouri.

Two passengers in the HHR Claudia and Elijah Morrison, both 11 years old sustained minor injuries and both were transported by Ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri for treatment.

This is Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol's 109 Fatality accident of 20016.

The Highway Patrol is working to determine who was driving the Caravan.







A Nevada man was hurt Thursday afternoon in a two-vehicle fatality collision on a Greene County road.

The Missouri Highway Patrol says 46-year-old Roscoe Choate, of Nevada, was taken to Cox-South Hospital in Springfield with moderate injuries.

Troopers say the collision happened on a farm road five miles Southwest of Willard about 3:00 p.m. when a West-bound Dodge Caravan crossed the centerline of the road and hit an East-bound Chevy HHR, driven by 41-year-old Jill Morrison, of Willard. Morrison was flown to Mercy Hospital in Springfield where she was pronounced dead shortly before 6:30 p.m.

Three other people were hurt -- 38-year-old Billie Howard, of Walnut Grove, who was in the Caravan with Choate -- and two passengers in the HHR, Claudia and Elijah Morrison, both 11. Howard's injuries were listed as moderate and the 11-year-olds suffered minor injuries.


The Highway Patrol is working to determine who was driving the Caravan.

Appleton City woman killed ,Two from Butler seriously injured in St. Clair County Fatality Accident

On 12/8/16 around 11:55am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in St. Clair County along with St. Clair County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a two vehicle fatality accident on Route H around 2 miles North of Taberville, Missouri in rural St. Clair County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2001 Kia Spectra driven by 37 year old Laura J. Gray of Appleton City, Missouri ran off the right side of the roadway, driver over corrected crossed the center line of the roadway striking the 2015 GMC Terrain driven by 50 year old Gene A. Morris of Butler, Missouri.

Laura J. Gray was pronounced dead at the scene of the aaccident by the St. Clair County Corner and she was transported to Sheldon Funeral Home in Osceola.

Mr. Morris as well as a passenger in his vehicle 72 year old Erma L. Wainscott of Butler, Missouri both sustained serious injuries in this accident.  Gene Morris was transported by ambulance to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital in Clinton for treatment. 

Erma L. Wainscott was transported by air ambulance to Research Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri for treatment. Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene by Bray's Tow of Osceola, Missouri. This is Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol's 108th Fatality of 2016.

Structure Fire in Hume

The Bates County Sheriffs Office along with mutual aide from the Rich Hill Fire Department are on scene of a possible house fire at 2655 SW Lewis Street in Hume, Missouri.

The smoke alarms are going off and the occupants smell smoke inside the residence at this time.
