A good deed indeed...
Someone with dandy crocheting skills has recently left some 'gifts' in the area of the Butler square. These beautiful hand made scarves have been found on park benches and other places in plain sight- hopefully to fall into the hands of someone in need.

Osceola man arrested in St. Clair County

Total bond is set at $15,000 cash or surety. The warrant was issued on Dec. 27 and stems from an Osceola Police Department investigation on Aug. 25.

On November 13, 1964, Jerry was united in marriage to Charles A. "Chuck" Champ in Kansas City, Missouri.
Jerry attended schools in Everett and Archie, Missouri. She started her work career on the farm, then at Westinghouse Corp., Kansas City, Missouri, Polson's Clothing, Harrisonville and at Bakan Plastics in Lee's Summit, Missouri until her retirement in 1978. Jerry enjoyed word search puzzles, sewing, cooking, baking and visiting with family and friends. She had overcome many serious health issues with a "never quit" attitude. Jerry loved living on the farm until her and Chuck moved to Golden Years in December of 2015
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Chuck Champ on March 24, 2016; a son, Steven Craig Karst; two brothers, Alva Morris and Paul Hadley Goddard.
Jerry is survived by a son, Tom Mays and wife, Margaretta, Freeman, Missouri; daughter, Diana L. Jones, Independence, Missouri; 4 grandchildren, Craig Mays and wife Debbie, Nathan Mays, Marissa Jones and Sarah Jones; two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Benjamin Mays; 3 step-great-grandchildren, Shaun and Emily Griesbaum and Melissa Lindsey; a brother, Walter L. Goddard and wife Margaret, Harrisonville, Missouri; a sister, Mary Lee Brooks and husband Donald, Scottsdale, Arizona; two sister-in-laws, Ginger Goddard, Archie, Missouri and Loretta Jarrell, North Kansas City, Missouri; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held 5:30 p.m., Sunday, January 8, 2017 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with cremation to follow the service.
Family will receive friends from 4:00 p.m. until 5:30 p.m., Sunday, January 8, 2017 at the funeral home.
Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
Clinton man arrested in St. Clair County

The original charge stems from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation in April 2013 when deputies were dispatched to SE 871 Road, Osceola, in reference to items loaded in a truck that was stuck in the mud and unable to move. Items in the truck included a green refrigerator, a washing machine, a wood stove, a furnace, and some other small items.
Contact was made with Chaluisant who stated he had permission from the owner of the property to take scrap from the trailers. Contact was made with the property owner, Duane Bourland, who stated the items that were removed from his property without permission.
Appleton City man arrested in St. Clair County

The charges stem from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation on Oct. 25 when a traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle Sieleman was a passenger in. During the investigation members of the Mid Missouri Multi Jurisdiction Drug Task Force arrived on scene to assist with the stop. A check revealed Sieleman had two warrants from Henry County for failing to appear in court on misdemeanor charges of harassment and speeding. Sieleman was taken into custody.
The investigation continued at a camper that Sieleman resides in behind an abandoned residence on Burdette Street, Appleton City. A plastic bag with a white powder and several items of drug paraphernalia were discovered in the camper. The white powder field tested positive for methamphetamine.
Mr. Sieleman was also arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for failing to appear in court in another case charging him with class C felony charge of possession of controlled substance. Bond on that charge is set at $10,000 cash only. The original charge stems from an Appleton City Police Department investigation in October 2013

On Dec. 29, a St. Clair County deputy took a burglary report on East Fourth Street, Appleton City.
Deborah Reeder reported several items missing from her business, Riley's Auction House.
Mrs. Reeder said a money box, laptop, and miscellaneous tools are missing. No information on the value of the items was reported.
