Burglary in Archie

On 02-06-17 the Archie Police Department took a report of a Burglary report at the Quik Break. 

It appears that the subject forced entry into the building by using a crowbar to break the glass.

Two arrested in Bates County

Ricky Gayman
On February 5, 2017 a Deputy conducted a traffic stop on county road 7521. The driver of the vehicle, Ricky Gayman (DOB 10/13/1968), had an outstanding warrant out of Cedar County for passing bad checks. 

The passenger in the vehicle, Christina Allen (DOB 8/9/1976), had multiple warrants from Bates, Vernon and Cedar Counties for possession of a controlled substance. 

Mr. Gayman gave the Deputy consent to search the vehicle. During the search the Deputy located a syringe that was filled with a clear liquid. 

The liquid field tested positive for methamphetamine. Both subjects were transported to the Bates County Jail for processing.

Adrian Youth Wrestling pictures this Thursday

Parents/Students- Adrian Youth Wrestling

We will be having pictures this Thursday, February 9th @ 5:30 pm in the Adrian high school gym. The cost will be $10 and includes a disc with 4 different poses including edited and non-edited images. The disc comes with all rights. Please wear the team shirt and shirts that were handed out with their singlet underneath.

We would like to have everyone come so we are able to get a complete team picture.

There will only be a JV Boys game at home starting at 5:30 pm. Jayhawk-Linn is unable to play a JV girls game.

Tuesday Night (Girls):
Due to Wheatland's numbers, there will only be a Varsity Girls home game starting at 5:30 pm.

Bates County:
* Route 18: One-lane traffic in areas between Route FF and Missouri/Kansas state line east of Adrian. Repairing roadway edges.

* Various Routes: One-lane traffic, slow-moving train of work trucks and crews and equipment close to traffic. Repairing approaches, filling potholes, cutting brush and repairing and replacing signs.


St. Clair County:
* Route 82: One-lane traffic over Brush Creek and Truman Lake east of Osceola. Bridge work.

* Route E: One-lane traffic over Osage River in Roscoe. Bridge work.


Vernon County:
* I-49: One northbound lane closed over the railroad tracks in Nevada. Mile Marker 102. Bridge work.

* Route AA: One-lane traffic in areas between Chouteau Road and Main Street near Schell City. Chipping brush.

Garden City Police arrest man with multiple felony warrants

On 2/4/17 around 5:15pm the  a officer of the Garden City Police Department stopped a vehicle in the 100 block of 8th street driven by a 39 year old man from Garden City. 

A records check revealed his driver's license was suspended and he had multiple warrants for his arrest out of Garden City, Jackson County, and Belton. 

The driver was taken into custody without incident and transported to the Cass County Jail.
