Clinton man arrested in Henry County

On 2/5/17 around 10:13pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Henry County arrested 28 year old Christopher J. Farley of Clinton, Missouri.

Mr. Farley was arrested for 1.) Driving while Intoxicated 2.) Speeding 3.) Lane Violation.

He was booked into the Henry County Jail and later bonded out.

House fire in Eldorado Springs Missouri

Around 2:30am this morning the El Dorado Springs Fire Department along with several other agencies responded to a house fie in the 200 block of East Pine Street in Eldorado Springs.

A investigation on the cause of this fire is pending at this time and no one was reported injured in this fire.

Please use caution if you must travel in this area as crews are still onscene of this house fire.

Garden City man taken into custody after barricading himself In building

Earlier today, Officers of the Garden City Police Department and the Cass County Sheriff's Office attempt to take a 53 year old Garden City man into custody in the 29000 Block of Sycamore Grove Road. The man was wanted for violation of an Ex Parte order and an active warrant for his arrest. 

The man barricaded himself in an outbuilding of a residence on Sycamore Grove Road. Officers were able to talk to the man and he surrendered a short time later without further incident. 

The man was taken into custody and transported to the Cass County Jail.

Stolen vehicle from Archie

The Cass County Sheriffs Office is attempting to locate a stolen lifted 1997 Dodge Ram 1500 that has a tool box in the back of it and is turquoise in color with a Missouri License Plate number of 5KY-615.

The vehicle was stolen in Archie this evening around 7:45pm and it has a .22 bolt action firearm behind the seat of the vehicle.

Storms Possible Monday

A few thunderstorms are possible tomorrow afternoon and evening mainly east of I-35. Right now, no severe weather is expected. 

The spring-like weather won’t last long though as light snow chances return Wednesday and Thursday.


Drexel Volunteer Fire Department attends 36th Annual Winter Fire School and Fire Expo

This weekend members of the Drexel Volunteer Fire Department attended the 36th Annual Winter Fire School and Fire Expo at the University of Missouri, Columbia.

Member's Accumulated a total of 72 hours of training in subjects ranging from Grant writing, various Officer techniques and tactics, Large vehicle extraction and rescues, Fire Dynamics, tools, and resources.

While at Winter Fire School the group also participated in a team building experience at Columbia's Epoch Escapes Room trying to find the antidote for the "outbreak."

Member's attending were Captain's Sheryl Greene and Cody Crumby, Firefighters Chris Bodenhamer, Chris Gruenberg, Isaac Juarez and Anthony Juarez.

Obituary - Vivian Marie Franklin

Vivian Marie Franklin, 93, of Lee's Summit, Missouri died Friday, February 3, 2017 at the Lakewood Wilshire Nursing Home in Lee's Summit, Missouri. 

Funeral Services 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Holmeswood Baptist Church, 9700 Holmes Road, Kansas City, Missouri, with visitation from 10:00-11:00. Burial in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville, Missouri.
