Obituary - Nancy Jean Reed

Nancy Jean Reed, age 77, La Cygne, Kansas passed away on Wednesday November 29, 2017 at Promise Hospital of Overland Park. She was born at Madison, Iowa on June 22, 1940 the daughter of Harry H. and Charlotte Emily Miller Weaver. She was married to Kenneth Reed on August 18, 1970.

He preceded her in death on January 21, 2010. Nancy retired from the Osawatomie State Hospital as a Psych Tech. She is survived by a son Jeff Reed, a daughter, Julie Schaal, grandson Sean Reed and a sister Linda Polley.

Nancy will be laid to rest in Walsenburg, Colorado. The family suggests contributions to the Charity of Choice. On line condolences for the family can be left at www.schneiderfunerals.com. Arrangements: Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, La Cygne Chapel.

Belton woman escapes injury in Cass County motorcycle crash

On 12/3/17 around 12:35pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County responded to a one vehicle motorcycle crash on Route Y just east of State Line Road in rural Cass County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2012 Harley Davidson driven by 52 year old Carol L. Fregeau of Belton, Missouri failed to negotiate a curve, causing the bike to slide off the roadway ejecting the driver.

Carol L. Fregeau sustained minor injuries in this accident and she refused medical treatment at the scene.

The bike received minor damages and it was driven from the scene.

Obituary - Bonnie L. Kidwiler

Bonnie L. Kidwiler, age 67 of Clinton, passed away Friday, December 1, 2017 at St. Luke's Plaza Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri.

Harrisonville woman killed in Cass County Crash

On 12/2/17 around 2:45pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol along with Cass County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident on East 307th Street just west of Lone Tree Road in rural Cass County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2018 Chevrolet Malibu driven by 59 year old Michelle Fedorchek-Hohenstreet of Drexel, Missouri traveled into the wrong lane of traffic and struck the 2001 Suzuki Marauder Motorcycle driven by 62 year old Anna M. Meihls of Harrisonville, Missouri head on.

Anna M. Meihls was pronounced dead at the Cass Regional Medical Center in Harrisonville, Missouri at 5:20pm this evening.

Michelle Fedorchek-Hohenstreet sustained moderate injuries in this accident and she was transported to Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri for treatment.

Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene by Johnson's Tow of Harrisonville.

This is Troop A of the Missouri State Highway Patrol's 65th Fatality Accident of 2017.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Cruiser struck by vehicle in Bates County

On Friday evening the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County along with Bates County Sheriff's Deputies were working a accident in the Northbound Lanes of I-49 around mile marker 125 when a MSHP Patrol Car was rear-ended while it was stationary on the side of the highway.

The trooper was in his vehicle at the time of the impact, however he was sore but not seriously not injured as a result.

The other driver was cited and released at the scene. The patrol vehicle was towed to Troop A HQ in Lees Summit, Missouri by Don’s Towing of Butler, Missouri.
