Obituary - Michael "Mike" Wilkinson

Funeral services for Mike Wilkinson will be 2 p.m. Thursday, February 8, 2018 at the First Baptist Church in Raymore, Missouri. Visitation will be prior to services from 1-2 p.m. at the church. 

Burial in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, Missouri.

Michael Lee Wilkinson, age 69 of Raymore, Missouri died Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, Kansas. He was born September 5, 1948 to Theodore and Anna Mildred Carmichael Wilkinson in Pleasant Hill, Missouri.

Mike is survived by his wife, Lorraine Wilkinson of Raymore, Missouri; one son, Damon Wilkinson of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; four grandchildren, Brenden Wilkinson, Chad Gregg, Samantha Sweets-Wilkinson and Zachari Sweet-Wilkinson; great-grandson, Maxwell Anthony Washington; daughter-in-law, Kimmie Wilkinson; special nephew, Bryon Carmichael; one sister, Darlene Warren of Kansas City, Missouri; God-daughter, Sherri Arnett of Warrensburg, Missouri; and two God-grandsons, Shemar Arnett and Maurice Arnett. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Mikie Wilkinson; and one sister, Willa Holliday.

Updated Obituary - John Robert Browning

John Robert Browning, age 67 of Clinton passed away January 31, 2018 at Clinton Healthcare and Rehabilitation. He was a retired construction worker from the job he truly loved at Westport Construction in Clinton, MO. 

John had an unprecedented work ethic and a desire for perfection that his work crews could not deny. He put his all into every job he was on and loved to see it through to the end.

John was a proud husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He loved is family dearly and enjoyed spending time with them as often as possible. John was an avid fisherman and a huge Kansas City Royals baseball fan. When he was not working on a job site, you could usually find him catching a ballgame or at a good fishing hole trying his best to pick it clean. Watching a Royals game in person at Kauffman Stadium, or going a fishing trip with his brothers and grandsons were some of his fondest memories.

John was proceeded in death by both of his parents Nearis and Zula Browning; two brothers Fuzzy and Jimmy; two sisters Betty and Lou; and one grandson Jason.

John leaves behind his loving wife of 32 years, Sherry Browning of the home. Two brothers: Delbert(Sandra) Browning and Ralph Browning, three sisters: Ann Brewer, Martha Redden, Daisy(Frank) Warmbrodt, and two sisters-in-law’s: Ruth Browning and Lynn Browning. He also leaves behind 3 daughters, Jessie Browning of Irving, TX; Carmen (David) Bristow of Clinton; Chrissy(Jeremy) Wilson of Clinton; 10 grandchildren: Anthony, Tommy, JD, Dakota, Hayden, Riley, Merissa, Angelina, Tatum, Marionna; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

Visitation followed by service for family and friends will be at 1pm on Tuesday February 6, 2018 at Vansant Mills Funeral Home in Clinton, MO. The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society or Trinity Lutheran Church of Clinton and may be left in care of the funeral home.

Obituary - Grady McDonald Jr.

Grady McDonald, 61, Kansas City, MO departed this life on Thursday, February 1, 2018 at Meadowview of Harrisonville, Missouri.

He is survived by his son, Dale Edward McDonald and fiancée, Desiree I. Jones, Ridgeland, Mississippi and a daughter, Kayla Sue McDonald, Raymore, Missouri.

Graveside service will be held 1:00 pm, Monday, February 5, 2018 at the Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Kansas City, Missouri.

Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.

Obituary - Jerry Edward Kibler

Jerry Edward Kibler, 74, Nevada, MO passed away on Friday, February 02, 2018 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, MO.

Jerry was born February 20, 1943 in Nevada to Edward Morris and Velma (Treat) Kibler, Jr. He graduated from Windsor High School Class of 1961.

Survivors include one daughter, Debra Sites and her husband Brent, Belton, MO; two grandchildren, Kelsey Arnold and her husband Cade, Raymore, MO, Kyle Simmons, Belton, MO; one sister, Barbara Turk, Nevada, and a special friend, Erma Garrett. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Private Committal will be held on Saturday, February 10, 2018 at Antioch Cemetery in Nevada.

James Ray “Jim” Hough, 71, was born October 16, 1946 in Butler, Missouri the oldest of six children born to Lewis Ray “Sammy” and Thelma (Garrison) Hough. He departed this life unexpectedly, January 31, 2018 at his home, on the family farm south of Appleton City, while enjoying the company of his son. Jim loved his cattle, trucking, and fishing with his grandchildren.

In 1966 - 1968 Jim served his country in the U.S. Army, spending eleven months in Vietnam. After being honorably discharged, Jim returned home where he made his living farming and trucking, as well as driving for UPS for nine years.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Thelma Hough. Survivors include: his children Angie and husband Tomas Pagan of Pooler, Georgia, Brandon Hough and wife Tina of Roscoe, Missouri, Brittanni and husband Ryan Turner of Appleton City, Missouri, James Hough of the home; seven grandchildren: Erica Williams, Chance Williams and wife Lysette, Jaden Pagan, Hailey Hough, Brandy Hough, Alexis Turner and Kade Turner; one great-granddaughter Valeria Williams; his siblings: Dave Hough and wife Cindy, Lois and husband Wayne Schenker, Bob Hough and wife Beth, Bill Hough and wife Anita, Lucile Hough and Donald, many nieces nephews, cousins as well as numerous good friends. He will be missed by all.



Meet the Archie Police Departments newest addition

Meet the Archie Police Departments newest addition. K-9 Moose is a German Shepard, He was born in Germany March 25, 2016. Moose is a dual purpose police Canine that specializes in Narcotics, tracking, and patrol work. 

Moose and his handler, Officer Kenneth Massa are currently being certified by the Missouri Police Canine Association. 

Both are expected to complete training by mid February. Please help us welcome our newest edition to our Community.
