St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office News Release April 29-May 6, 2019

St. Clair Sheriff Scott Keeler reported deputies made six arrests and took a stealing report and a burglary report during the weeks of April 29-May 6, 2019.

Burglary in Rockville

On May 3, a St. Clair County deputy was dispatched to Down Home Butcher on NW 1001 Road in reference to a burglary.

Upon arrival, the deputy spoke with the business owner, Norman Williamson. Williamson stated he had left his business at 6:30 p.m. the previous evening. When he arrived at his shop the morning of May 3, he discovered the rear door to his business standing wide open.

Williamson showed the deputy the marks on the door and the fence surrounding the business. Williamson stated that they suspect tried to get into the shop area of the business, but were unsuccessful.

It was undetermined at the time of this report if anything was missing from the shop or freezers.

Ducks Unlimited auction draws a crowd

The Ducks Unlimited banquet was held Saturday night in Adrian, and the auction was quite successful- an Argentina hunting trip brought $2,100, a yellow Lab puppy $350, a 4 person pheasant hunt brought $500, and the DU shotgun of the year brought $2,000, along with many other nice art pieces and DU items. Many thanks to all who donated and attended.
