Motorcycle accident in Cass County
On 2/3/20 around 11:49am the Cass County Sheriff's Office along with Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers responded to a one vehicle motorcycle crash on Missouri 58 Highway at Hoover Road in rural Cass County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2008 Harley Davidson driven by 69 year old Bradford A. Hunziker of Lees Summit, Missouri began to slide on the roadway and driver was ejected.
Mr. Hunziker sustained serious injuries in this accident and he was transported by Life Flight Eagle to Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri for treatment.
The Harley was totaled and towed from the scene of the accident by J's Southland Tow.

Obituary - Stanley M. Bozarth
Stanley M. Bozarth, age 65, of Belton, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2020.
A celebration of life visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 6, 2020 at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083.
Stanley was born in San Diego, California to Leslie Bozarth and Peggy (Kinney) Bozarth on April 12, 1954. Stanley was one of five children, Elizabeth, Leslie, Teresa and Connie. After graduating high school Stanley went on to continue his education with some collegiate courses. For three years, Stanley served his country in the United States Army and was very proud of his honorable and faithful service. Through his career journey, he was involved in Building Trades, surveying, mortgage lending, and several other endeavors. He loved being around people. In life, Stanley and his life-long partner, Connie Hedger, were blessed with one daughter, Terra and later in life two grandchildren, Parker and AlexAndria. Stanley enjoyed collecting gambling memorabilia such as collector card decks and poker chips. He also loved to cook as he was very good at it and had such a fine taste for great food and restaurants.
Stanley was preceded in death by his father, Leslie H. Bozarth; brother Leslie S. Bozarth; and sister Elizabeth Stephenson.
He is survived by his loving spouse of thirty-five years, Colleen F. Hedger; daughter Terra Stegner (Jeff); sister Teresa Grimulskus; sister Connie Dreher (Theo); and two grandchildren, Parker Gruetze and AlexAndria Gruetze.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the PKD Foundation, 1001 E 101st Terrace #220, Kansas City, Missouri 64131.

Butler School Canceled on Wednesday 2/5/20
The Butler R5 School District will join other schools in our area in celebrating the KC Chiefs historic Super Bowl Victory by cancelling classes for the Super Bowl Parade.

Obituary - Alice Trammell
Alice Trammell, 85 of Butler, Missouri passed away Friday, January 31, 2020 at Medicalodge of Butler. Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, February 8, 2020 at Mullinax Funeral Home, Butler (660-679-0009). There will be no visitation. Burial will follow services in Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society. Alice Foote Trammell was born May 16, 1934 in Bates County Missouri to Bufford and Cora Drysdale Everett. She grew up in the Butler area and graduated from Butler High School in 1952. She was united in marriage to LaVerne Foote and from this union three sons were born. He would precede her in death in 1983. She later married Lowell Trammell.
For 29 years Alice worked as the High School secretary, retiring in 1996. She would fill many roles at the school and very much enjoyed her job and the students. Alice also loved to travel and took many trips all over the country and the world. She enjoyed her grandchildren, spending time with each of them playing games and attending their various sporting events. She also liked to read and was a long time member of the Immanuel Baptist Church in Butler.
Alice was preceded in death by her parents, husbands Laverne Foote and Lowell Trammell, son Randy Foote, granddaughter Rebecca Foote, brother Richard Everett, and sister Dixie Smith. She is survived by her sons, Rex Foote and Russell Foote, six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and brother Tommy Everett.

Barton county authorities looking for suspect who fled on foot
On the Morning of 02-03-2020 around 1:14 a.m. Deputy Sheriff Contreras made a traffic stop on a vehicle that had reported stolen license plates. He identified the driver of the vehicle and then attempted to detain the individual due to the license being stolen. The man failed to comply with the orders the deputy gave him. The man then assaulted the deputy by shoving the deputy and then the subject fled into a wooded area. Officers responded to the area to assist in trying to locate the subject, however he was not located. After further investigation it was found the vehicle was stolen from Springfield.
At around 7:00am the Sheriff’s Office received a call from a citizen who stated a subject had came to his home on NW 10th LN and requested something to drink. A deputy and officers from the Lamar Police Department responded to the area. When they arrived on scene it was reported the subject had jumped a fence and fled into a wooded area once again. Numerous Law Enforcement Officers from Lamar Police Department, Missouri State Highway Patrol, and the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office looked for the subject in the area of NW 50th Rd and NW 10th LN and NW 50th Rd and NW 20th LN. K9 teams from both the Lamar Police Department and the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office also search the wooded area for the subject. A helicopter from the Missouri State Highway Patrol also flew the area, but the subject has not been located as of yet. The man is believed to be a Jereme D. Fenley, of Shell Knob. Attached is a photograph of Fenley.
