Obituary - Richard McMeins

Richard McMeins, 89 of Mount Ayr, Iowa passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at Mount Ayr Nursing Home. Cremation, with memorial services to be held 11:00 am Monday, February 17, 2020 at Mullinax Funeral Home, Drexel Chapel (660-679-0009).

A visitation will also be held Monday, February 17, 2020 from 10:00 am to 11:00 am prior to the service, also at the chapel. Inurnment will follow the services in Sharon Cemetery, Drexel, Missouri.

Memorial contributions may be made to Ringold Senior Center. Messages of condolence may be left for the family at www.mullinaxfuneralhome.com

Updated Obituary - Virginia Lee King

Virginia Lee King, 97, of Warrensburg, Missouri (formerly of East Lynne), passed away on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at The Arbors at Harmony Gardens in Warrensburg, MO. 

A Memorial services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 12, 2020 at the Harrisonville United Methodist Church in Harrisonville, with a visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Memorial contributions are suggested to Alzheimer’s Association.

Virginia was born on January 31, 1923 in Harrisonville, Missouri, the daughter of Orion and Mary (Price) Brookhart. She graduated from Harrisonville High School in 1941. Virginia married Joe East. After Joe’s death in 1953, she met and married Bob King. She relocated to East Lynne, Missouri, where she remained until moving to Warrensburg in 2014. Virginia owned Bob’s Country Store in East Lynne, which she sold in 1986. She was a member of the Harrisonville United Methodist Church, PEO, and Delvers Club.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Joe East; her second husband, Bob King; and infant son, Joseph Charles East. She is survived by her daughter, Nancy (Paul) Gregg of Warrensburg; her grandson, Matthew (Brenda) Gregg of St. Joseph, MO; her granddaughter, Erin (Cody) Barrier of Lee’s Summit, MO; and her 3 great-grandchildren: Nathan, Brandon, and Sam.
