St. Clair County Sheriff Scott Keeler reported deputies made five arrests and took two reports during the week of Feb. 11 through 18, 2020.

Update: Charges filed in Amoret stabbing
Shortly after noon yesterday, Deputies were dispatched on a report of multiple people stabbed at a residence in Amoret Missouri. Deputies arrived on scene and immediately took one female subject into custody in the street at a residence on the corner of Monroe St and 2nd. The female was the granddaughter and niece of the victims.
Upon entry into the house deputies found one female with serious life threatening injuries. A second female, who also had life threatening injuries, was transported to the hospital via a good Samaritan prior to the deputies arrival. Medical crews arrived and began providing medical treatment to the female found in the house. That female victim was transported by ambulance to Bates County Memorial Hospital. Both female victims were later transferred to trauma centers in Kansas City.
A search warrant was issued to search the residence in reference to this crime. Detectives processed the crime scene until approximately 7 pm.
Kaylea Jo Turner, 20 year old female from Amoret has been charged with 4 counts:
2 counts of Assault 1st degree-serious physical injury a Class A Felony.
2 counts of Armed criminal action an unclassified Felony.
Bond was set at $500,000 cash or surety.

Obituary - Roger Dale McDaniel
Roger Dale McDaniel, 73, Nevada, MO passed away on February 15, 2020 at Truman Healthcare and Rehab in Lamar. Roger was born July 10, 1946 in Orchard, NE to Arthur E. McDaniel and Beulah U. (Milne) McDaniel, Wilson.
Roger graduated from Carson-Macedonia High School in Iowa. He served in the United States Army for two years while being stationed in El Paso, TX for most of his military service. Following the service, he lived in Maynard, NE for a number of years while working for Vickers Assembly Plant in Omaha, NE. Roger has lived in Nevada for the past 20 years. During that time he worked in transportation, transporting vehicles
He is survived by three children, Rhonda Marchand (Kevin), Omaha, NE, Roger Dale McDaniel II, (Espy Garcia), Farmers Ranch, TX, and Rebecca “Becky” German, Glenwood, IA; eight grandchildren; seven siblings, Don McDaniel (Vickie), Pflugerville, TX, Jean Knapp (Richard), Papillion, NE, Shirley DeLashmutt, Hillsboro, OR, Ben Wilson (Teresa), Peoria, AZ, Glenda Paulson (Al), Ft. Dodge, IA, Richard Wilson (Candy), Omaha, NE, Lisa Garcia (Richard), San Antonio, TX; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Ellen Stull, and one brother, Tom McDaniel.
Graveside services with Military Honors will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, February 21, 2020 at the National Cemetery in Fort Scott, KS.
