Partial Lunar Eclipse Tonight
There is a partial lunar eclipse occurring tonight. Viewing conditions in the KC area look pretty good with clear to mostly clear skies expected. Temperatures will be in the 20s to near freezing so dress warm if you venture out to witness this celestial event.
Obituary - Joseph W. Barron Jr.
Joseph W. Barron Jr., age 65, of Harrisonville, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 surrounded by his loving daughters at home.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 22, 2021 at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083. A celebration of Joe’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at Rock Brook Church, 1715 E. 175th Street, Belton, Missouri 64012.

Joe was born in Detroit, Michigan on August 27, 1956 to Joseph W. Barron Sr. and Lillian (Brown) Barron. After graduating high school, Joe honorably served his country in the United States Army from 1977 to 1983. Joe worked hard in achieving his Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice from ITT Technical Institute in 2009. In life Joe was a humble man, devoting many years to serving the communities he was a part of. He was a member of the KC Toastmasters Club, speaking publicly and empowering others. Joe worked in the Ozanam Orphanage, worked with youth in the Kansas City area, and would often volunteer time to read to children in hospitals around the area.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Sr. and Lillian Barron; and son, Jason Hupp Sr.
He leaves behind his two loving daughters, Rebecca Schaefer (husband Adrian) and Elizabeth Barron; and son, William Myles Brown V.

D. F. Mitchell, age 91 of Adrian, Missouri died Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. He was born May 10, 1930 to Josiah and Margaret Sider Mitchell in Grove, Oklahoma.
D. F. is survived by his wife, Roseann Mitchell of Adrian, Missouri; one son, Ken Mitchell and wife Melissa of St. Joseph, Missouri; three daughters, Kat Willson and husband Del of Keota, Iowa, Cheri Sullins and husband Tristan of Adrian, Missouri and Lisa Fitzpatrick and husband Marvin of Shawnee, Kansas; six grandchildren, Cora, Nicholas, Abbey, Kaitlyn, Michael and Courtney; and 10 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Sheldon, Thayne, Bob, Deb and Doyle Mitchell; and two sisters, Nola Coale and Wilma Legg.

Obituary - Wesley E. Hennemann
Wesley E. Hennemann, 77, of Clinton, Missouri, formerly of Windsor, Mo., died Saturday afternoon, November 13, 2021, at University Hospital, Columbia, Mo.
He was born February 7, 1944, in Eurlanger, Kentucky, the son of Wallace Edward Hennemann and Lucy Margaret (Allen) Hennemann. On May 17, 1987, he married Diana Lynn Morrison in Leadville, Colorado and they enjoyed 34 years of marriage.
While living in Colorado, Wesley worked as a meat cutter and then at the Leadville mines. After moving to Missouri, he worked for Rival Manufacturing for 25 years at their plants in Warrensburg, Sedalia, and Clinton. He enjoyed taking care of the yard and fishing and camping with the family on summer weekends, often enjoying his favorite snack of peanut butter and marshmallow fluff and his favorite dinner of fried potatoes with fish or ham and beans. He attended Assembly of God of Windsor and was an active helper in Boy Scouts when his sons were young. Always lending a helping hand to anyone, he will be greatly missed by his family and friends.
In addition to his wife Diana, survivors include 3 daughters, Cindy Hennemann, Newport, Kentucky, Threasa Frey, Taylor Mill, Ky., and Nicole Hennemann, Bonner Springs, Kansas; 2 sons, Wesley Hennemann Jr., Newport, Ky., and James Hennemann, Clinton, Mo.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Terry Hennemann and Marvin Hennemann, both of Newport, Ky.; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his father and mother-in-law, Edwin and Carol Morrison, and a sister-in-law, Terrie O’Connel.
Funeral services will be 5:00 p.m. Thursday, November 18, 2021, at the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton, with Rev. Tom Waller officiating. Two vehicle accident in rural Butler
On November 17th around 3:32pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County along with Bates County Sheriff's Deputies and Butler Fire responded to a two vehicle accident in the southbound lanes of I-49 near mile marker 134.6 in rural Butler.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2011 Ford F-150 driven by 25 year old Makayla C. Krantz of Drexel, Missouri overcorrected and struck the 2020 Western Star Conventional driven by 26 year Cherokee W. Jestis of Butler.
A 3-year old juvenile male sustained minor injuries in this accident and he was treated at the scene of the crash and released.

Hume Jr High Lady Hornets finish basketball season 13-0
The Hume Jr High Lady Hornets finished their season on November 6th with a perfect 13-0 record.
Their regular season consisted of 7 games in which they outscored their opponents 274 points to just 46 points.
They averaged 39 points per game while only allowing just 6 1/2 points per game.
Heading into the GVVC Conference Tournament held October 25th -30th at Ballard School they were the 1 seed. They rolled through the conference tournament scoring 157 points in just 3 games for an average of 52 points per game. All the while, only allowing 8.3 points per game for a total of 25 points allowed over the 3 game stretch. Defeating Bronaugh for the Conference title 47-15.
Last on their schedule for the season was the Hume Invitational Tournament held November 1st-6th at Hume School.
Game 1 pitted the Lady Hornets facing off against the Butler Lady Bears. This was their toughest and closest game of the season up to this point. But, they dispatched the Lady Bears by a score of 29-17.
Game 2 saw the Lady Hornets facing their conference rival of the season. The Bronaugh Lady Wildcats for the 4th time this season. Down one of their starters for this game, the Lady Hornets still coasted to a 36-14 victory. Propelling them to the championship game.
Championship Saturday had the Lady Hornets facing the Lady Whirlwinds of Archie.
This game would prove to be their toughest and hardest fought game of the season.
The game stayed close as both defenses showed up to play, and was worthy of the admission as neither team ever managed to widen the scoring gap by more than 4 pts. The Lady Hornets secured the victory in the end by just a margin of 2pts. For a final score of 23-21.
When the dust had settled the Lady Hornets had averaged 29.3pts over the 3 game span for a total of 88 points. While allowing just 17 ppg, for a total of 52 pts.

Obituary - Linda Gayle Coonrod
Linda Gayle Coonrod, 78, Nevada, MO passed away on Tuesday, November 16, 2021 at Barone Alzheimer’s Care Center in Nevada. Linda was born May 14, 1943 to Elvis and Evelyn Nadine (Jackson) Haines. She married Bob Coonrod on October 14, 1986 in Miami, OK and he survives of the home.
Linda grew up in the Walker, MO area and graduated from Walker High School. Following high school, Linda began a lifelong career in banking. She worked at the bank in Walker, and later for Thornton Bank in Nevada, and at Bank of America where she retired after 47 years in the banking business. Linda also worked at the gates at the Nevada Speedway for 30 plus years where she enjoyed greeting the public. Linda was a member of the First Baptist Church in Nevada. She volunteered for the CCPA in Nevada, was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, and enjoyed participating in the Women’s Bowling League for many years.
Linda is survived by her son, Troy Munsterman (Janet), Nevada, and their children, Brandon Munsterman, Kansas City, MO, and Brook Munsterman, Nevada; a step-son, Jeff Coonrod (Lori), Nevada, and their children, Dylan Coonrod, Joplin, Marli Walker (Ben), Nevada, and Lani Coonrod, Nevada.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 22, 2021 at the First Baptist Church in Nevada with Dr. Kevin Daugherty officiating. Interment will follow in Newton Burial Park, Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada.
