Lillie Morris, age 70 of Butler, Missouri died Friday, December 3, 2021 at Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born October 15, 1951 to Frank and Elmira Curtis Tohannie in Winslow, Arizona.

Lillie is survived by her husband, Chester Morris of Butler, Missouri; one son, Clayton Morris and wife Yaneth of Butler, Missouri; one stepson, Zachary Morris of Archie, Missouri; six siblings, Ned Tohannie of Seattle, Washington, Laverne George of Delcon, Arizona, Sadie Jensen of Phoenix, Arizona, Rose Lamorie and Irene Tohannie both of Eau Claire, Wisconsin and Silas Tohannie of Luepp, Arizona; and four grandchildren, Alan, Anaih, Daniel and Hope. She was preceded in death by her parents; three brothers, Scott, Wesley and Peter; and two sisters, Sarah Lee and Marie Yazzie.

Fatality accident in Harrisonville

TRAFFIC ALERT: Harrisonville Police Officers have closed Brickplant Road at the intersection with S Brookhart Drive and have closed Anaconda Road at the intersection with N Clearwater Drive, due to a fatal crash involving a truck and a train.

Traffic moving north on Brickplant, south on Clearwater and east on Anaconda will be restricted in this area.

Please avoid the area until it reopens.

Obituary - Robert Edward Paul Jr.,

Robert Edward Paul Jr., age 67, of Peculiar, Missouri, passed away on Sunday, December 5, 2021.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2021 at the Missouri Veteran’s Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri.

Bob was born in Faulkner Co., Arkansas on April 13, 1954 to Robert Edward Paul Sr. and Alma Arlene (Graybill). He was joined in marriage with his wife, Starla (Attebury) in 1972. Bob then served his country in the United States Navy from 1973 to 1976 where he graduated high school. For many years, he worked as a control operator for KCP&L before retiring at forty-eight. Bob was then able to live out his life on the farm and share his love for the Lord with others. Bob was a pastor and with his type A personality, enjoyed saving others.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Robert Edward Paul Sr.; and daughter, Tressa R. Paul-Webb.

He is survived by his loving wife, Starla Ranee Paul; son, Bobby Paul III (Heather); two brothers, Rudy Paul (Linda) and Roy Rhoads (Jody); six sisters, Brenda Listern (Kurt), Patricia Brumlow, Cindy Campbell, Sarah Kimball (Harry), Kay Marrs, and Kathy Buckley; four grandchildren, Natalia Loveall, Quinton Moore, Briana Paul, and Ashley Paul; and four great grandchildren.

Obituary - Dusty Leon Frieben

Dusty Frieben, 59, Harrisonville, Mo passed away December 2, 2021.

Dusty was born April 15, 1962 to Bill and Louise Frieben in Kansas City, Missouri. Dusty’s interest included reptiles, fishing, art and collectibles. He also enjoyed preserving family photos for future generations to enjoy. 

Dusty retired from Calmar Industries after working there for 20 years before becoming a partner Cass County Overhead Door. He was a proud independent self-employed member of the Harrisonville area for over 20 years.

On July 5, 2008, Dusty was united in marriage to Paula Ann Weyandt in Pleasant Hill, Missouri.

Dusty was preceded in death by his mother, father and grandparents.

He is survived by his wife Paula; children Amy Frieben (Raytown) , Jessie (Benny) Krewson (Clinton), Jackie Frieben (Garden City) and Troy Frieben (Harrisonville) ; brothers Rusty Frieben (Harrisonville) and Charles Villines . Grandchildren: Jordan Frieben, Lucas Phillips, Brianna Schick, Alyssa Schick, Logan Cagle, Destiny Frost, Donovan Brewer and one Great Grandchild Ashlynn Osborn and future Grandson Oliver.

Cremation. A Celebration of Life Service will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, December 11, 2021 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri with inurnment in the Floral Hills East Cemetery, Lee's Summit, Missouri immediately following the service.

Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Shepherd's Staff Food Pantry, Harrisonville, Missouri and may be left at the funeral home.

Butter Burgers and Fresh Frozen Custard to Arrive in Harrisonville

Harrisonville is getting a delicious addition! Culver’s of Harrisonville will open this fall. Culver’s is known for its ButterBurgers and creamy Fresh Frozen Custard.

The new Harrisonville store will officially open on Monday, December 13, at 10:30 a.m.

Culver’s of Harrisonville, which will be located at 1415 N State Route 291, will serve fast, casual food, cooked to order, meaning guests’ food is not made until after they order it. The location will be open 10 am to 10 pm, and closed for major holidays.

“We’re excited to open and become an active member of the community,” says franchise co-owner, Connor Hartnett. “When Harrisonville residents and travelers are looking for handcrafted meals and tasty frozen treats, we’ll be ready to serve them with the warm hospitality Culver’s is known for.”

Owners Matt and Jeannie Mitchell opened their first Culver’s in Lee’s Summit in 2004. Since then they have opened restaurants in Blue Springs, Raymore, Independence, North Kansas City, Warrensburg, and most recently a second location in Lee’s Summit. They are very active in their communities including raising funds for school districts, first responders, and Future Farmers of America. The Mitchells are so excited to become part of Harrisonville!

Seasonal conditions are expected today with lows in the 20s for most folks and highs in the upper 30s to middle 40s. It'll be a bit warmer for Wednesday before temperatures climb back into the 60s for Thursday and Friday. Some 70 degree temperatures are possible Friday afternoon.
