Obituary - Diane Gilmore
Diane Gilmore, 63, a loving wife, mother, mami, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully with her husband by her side on Friday, April 12, 2024, at Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, MO. Diane was born on September 29, 1960, in Nevada, MO to Bob and Ila Conner. She graduated from Nevada High School in 1978. Diane met the love of her life, Jerry Gilmore, at age 15, and married on October 22, 1977, in Nevada. MO.
Diane spent her days providing daycare in Nevada for over the past 30 years and touched so many lives around her. She always made sure to decorate the house for all the holidays, as her life revolved around family and spending every special occasion with those she loved. She enjoyed bowling, sewing, camping, and especially their trips to Arkansas riding trails with her husband, family, and friends.
Survivors include her husband, Jerry Gilmore, and four daughters: Kristi Cartwright (Tim), Carthage, MO, Keri Smith, Webb City, MO, Kelli Cooper (Richard), Joplin, MO, and Kourtni Russell (KC), Walker, MO. Diane was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson on the way; 5 brothers, Rodney Conner (Tammy), Hernando, FL, Rick Conner, Ronnie Conner (Emma), Robby Conner, and Roger Conner (Robin), 1 sister, Deb Kimbrough (Jeff), all of Nevada, MO; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Diane was preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter Madison; nephew Brantley, and niece Allison.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30a.m. on Friday, April 19, at Ferry Funeral Home, Nevada. Interment will follow in Sheldon Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Sheldon Cemetery in c/o Ferry Funeral Home.

St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Butler is having their Spring Spaghetti Spectacular, Sunday, April 14th, 11-1 pm. Tickets are $10.00 each. Dinner includes spaghetti and meatballs, garlic bread, and dessert. All meals are drive-thru only. Proceeds help support the Foster Parent and After School Youth Programs.

Nevada woman injured in UTV rollover accident
On Saturday April 13th around 7:00 p.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Vernon County along with Vernon County Sheriff's Office responded to a UTV rollover accident on private property located at S. 1250 Road around 5 miles south Nevada.
The Missouri State Highway says the accident occurred when the westbound 2022 Can-Am Commander driven by 48 year old Anthony A. Strope of Nevada, Missouri struck an embankment and overturned.
A passenger in the UTV 50 year old Jeanie S. Williams of Nevada, Missouri sustained moderate injuries in this accident and she was by ambulance to Nevada Regional Medical Center for treatment.
