We have just been informed by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) that the Nationwide EAS Test scheduled for November 9 at 2 p.m. EST (1 p.m. locally) has been shortened. The audio of the test will now last
60 seconds instead of the originally planned two and a half minutes.
Again, we encourage everyone not to panic as the Nov. 9th test is performed- it will be on every television and radio station across the country. Bates County Live will run another reminder on the morning of Nov. 9th as well.
