On June 18th, the Barton County Sheriff’s office activated the Southwest Missouri Major Case Squad which is made up of officers and detectives from other counties (Including Bates County) to assist in the investigation of a reported assault in the city of Mindmines, MO. The assault happened on June 16th in the 800 block of Tucker Street.
The victim of the assault is a 58 year old male who was transported to an area hospital for treatment. He is listed in critical condition at this time. A 32 year old male has been arrested in connection to the assault and is awaiting formal charges filed by the Barton County Prosecuting Attorney. The investigation is ongoing.
