The service for Richard will be held at Hill and Son Funeral Home in Appleton City, Missouri on Tuesday, July 9, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. The Minister will be Jerry Johannigmeier. Visitation will be held at Hill and Son Funeral Home Tuesday, July 9, 2013, 10:00 - 11:00 a.m. one hour prior to service. Interment will be in Appleton City Cemetery, Appleton City, Missouri. The family suggests that memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or McGennis Youth Center.
Richard Ray Rohlfing, son of Martin Walther Richard and Ethel Irene (Hearting) Rohlfing was born July 31, 1952 in Appleton City, Missouri. He passed away Sunday, July 7, 2013 at 60 years of age.
Richard grew up in Appleton City, Missouri and graduated from Appleton City High School. He attended Vocational School in Springfield, Missouri for two years. He then worked at Keller Prefection Window Company in Butler, Missouri. Later he moved to Ohio where he worked at the Norandex Window Company. He moved back to Appleton City where he worked in construction for Ivan Hergesheimer, and then worked at Elder RV in Montrose, Missouri before health issues forced him to retire. Richard was really knowledgeable about raising and caring for flowers. Before his health failed, he had a very great memory and enjoyed learning people’s history and visiting with them.
Preceding Richard in death were his parents and brother, Alfred Rohlfing.Survivors include four siblings: Roger Rohlfing, David Rohlfing and wife, Theresa all of Appleton City, Anna Mason and husband Bill of Ft. Walton Beach, Florida and Irene Komer and husband, Tim of Clinton, Missouri; seven nieces and nephews: Angela Rohlfing, Victoria Schlauderaff, Amanda Johnson, Sheila Doll, Samuel Mason, Martin Komer and Rebekah Komer and several great nieces and nephews.
