Arrest for felony possession of a controlled
substance

Samuel Lyon |
On Dec. 11 an arrest warrant was issued
for Samuel Lyon, 34, Lowry City, charging him with a class C felony of
possessing a controlled substance. The charge stems from an incident on Dec. 10
on East Fourth Street, Lowry City, when deputies responded to a call regarding
a domestic assault. The investigation revealed there was a dispute between Lyon
and his father in reference to a water gun that Lyon's son allegedly used
inside the residence.
While a deputy was speaking with Lyon, a
small metal smoking pipe was observed. Lyon admitted he “smokes a lot of weed.”
A search was conducted and it took deputies several hours to seize the
evidence. While conducting the search Lyon laughed and stated it would take “all
day to take it all.” Marijuana along with a small metal spoon was located. The
spoon tested positive for methamphetamine.
An estimated over 100 other items
associated to marijuana and methamphetamine use were located and seized as
evidence. Items commonly used to manufacture methamphetamine were also located
and seized inside the residence. Lyon was taken into custody and transported to
the St. Clair County Jail. Lyon's father gave consent to search the rest of the
residence and nothing was located.
