On Jan. 10, Michael A. Stuart, 28, Roscoe, (Formerly of Butler) was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for failing to appear in court on class C felony charge of burglary-second degree. The warrant was issued on Dec. 23, 2013. Total bond was set at $20,000 cash only. After an appearance in court on Jan. 13, 2014, Stuart’s bond was reinstated and he was released. Another court appearance is scheduled for Jan. 22.
The charge stems from an incident on Aug. 20, 2013 at the Robert Liley residence in Roscoe. Liley reported someone tried to enter his house through a screen and gone through his medicine cabinet. He identified the man as a neighbor. The investigation led to the initial arrest of Stuart. He was later released pending formal charges. On Sept. 6, 2013, formal charges were filed on Stuart.
