HENRY COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE NEWS RELEASE: DRUG BUST

Drug Search Warrant Executed in Urich on Thursday Afternoon

Shortly before 4:00 p.m. on Thursday afternoon, deputies from the Henry County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at an address in the 100 block of West E.O. Graham, Urich, regarding an on-going investigation into suspected drug activity.

The search warrant application was filed by Prosecuting Attorney Richard Shields, which led to a warrant being issued by Circuit Judge James Journey. The search warrant authorized deputies to search the address for illegal drugs, as well as any items of paraphernalia connected to the use, sale or manufacture of such. During the execution of the search warrant, a small amount of an illegal substance, as well as paraphernalia items listed on the search warrant were discovered at the address.

“Early this year, an investigation began county-wide into suspected drug activity, which has lead to numerous investigative arrests for the possession of illegal substances. As this investigation continues to broaden, more arrests are expected in the coming weeks”, Sheriff Kent Oberkrom stated.

“Cpl. Aaron Brown and Deputy Chase Jackson were both instrumental in this branch of our investigation and were able to put together sufficient evidence to apply for this search warrant. I foresee this having a very positive effect on the community”, Sheriff Oberkrom concluded.

Deputies which participated in the execution of t
he search warrants were Major Rob Hills, Sgt. Mike Nelson, Cpl. Aaron Brown, Deputies Chase Jackson and Silverio Rosas.
