On July 20,
2015, Sheriff Chad Anderson ordered that the flag at the Bates County
Sheriff's Office be flown at half-staff in honor of the five brave
service members who were murdered last week in Chattanooga, TN. The
flag will be flown at half-staff until the service members are laid
to rest.
Sheriff
Anderson and his Staff would like to send their sincere condolences
to the families of these courageous service members. Sheriff
Anderson said that by lowering our flag, we are showing respect and
honor to our military personnel for their sacrifice to our nation.
He would also like to give his thanks to the Police Officers and
First Responders who helped end the terror attack on that fateful day
in Tennessee.
