As with any government office, the public has a right to be kept informed of certain information. While that is true of the Coroner's office, special care must be taken when releasing information as it is always sensitive.  As Coroner, I must weigh what information can and should be released and when is the appropriate time to do so.

That said, the policy of the Bates County Coroner's office will be to release periodic activity reports. Much like a Sheriff's or Police activity report, only factual information about the type of call received will be released. Details about deceased individuals and services, etc., are to be announced by funeral homes if the family desires.

The first activity report of the Bates County Coroner's Office will be released today.  We hope to keep the public appropriately informed of the functions of our office.  As always, if there are questions, don't hesitate to call us at any time.
