Butler Police Department Warns of Phone Scam

The Butler Police Department would like to make everyone aware of phone scams that are still circulating. The scammers are using different methods to try and get money. 

The most common used is they pretend to be IRS. The IRS does not email or ask for money or personal information over the phone. 

In any situation DO NOT give any personal information over the phone. Please make elderly family members aware as well, they have been the most common target.
