Vernon N. West, 77, of Garden City, Missouri departed this life on Sunday, July 16, 2017 at his home near Garden City surrounded by love and family.

He is survived by his wife, Mary West of the home; three sons, Vernon Ray West and wife Janet, Belton, Missouri, Mike West and wife Linda, Deepwater, Missouri and Kenneth West, Kansas City, Missouri; 8 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren and 1 on the way; a brother, Charles West, Englewood, Colorado; two sisters, Jeannette Couch, Belton, Missouri and Flo Humo, Kansas City, Missouri; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, July 20, 2017 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri with burial in the Byler Cemetery near Creighton, Missouri.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at the funeral home.

Family suggests memorial contributions may be made to the Heartland Hospice.
