The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2017 Chevrolet Malibu driven by 16 year old Cody D. Singleton of Osceola, Missouri failed to yield and pulled into the path and struck the 2015 Dodge 1500 driven by 53 year old Kenneth Cox of Paragould, Arkansas.
Cody D. Singleton was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident by the St. Clair County Coroners office and he was transported to the Sheldon Funeral Home.
A passenger in Mr. Singleton's vehicle 18 year old Rachel E. Goodbrake of Osceola, Missouri sustained serious injuries in this accident and she was transported by life flight to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri for treatment.
Two passengers in Mr. Cox's vehicle 33 year old Kirk A. Coward and 34 year old Matthew R. Horne both of Paragould, Arkansas both sustained moderate injuries in this crash and both were transported by ambulance to a local hospital for treatment.
Both vehicles were totaled and towed from the scene by C&H Towing of Collins, Missouri and Mikes Wrecker Service also of Collins, Missouri.
This is Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol's 27th Fatality accident of 2019.
