Police Pursuit in Clinton ends in accident

At approximately 4:30 AM, on July 8th, an accident occurred at the East Junction of Missouri 13 highway and Missouri 18 Highway. A 2002 Chevrolet Blazer, being driven by 28-year-old Frederick Griffitt of Clinton, was actively being pursued by the Clinton Police Department, on felony charges. Griffitt's vehicle failed to stop for a red electric signal at the East Junction and proceeded east through the intersection.

After entering the intersection, Griffitt's vehicle was struck by a 2012 Ford F-250, being driven by 32-year-old Issac Keepper of Crane, Missouri, who was traveling north on Missouri 13 highway. Upon impact, Griffitt's vehicle then overturned and ejected the passenger, 24-year-old Kaelee Murray of Holden, Missouri.

Mr. Griffitt fled the scene but was apprehended a short time later. Murray was air lifted to Research Hospital in Kansas City with moderate injuries. Griffitt denied any injury and declined medical attention. Keepper was transported to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital, where he was treated for minor injuries and released.
