Obituary - Timothy Steven Barry

Timothy S. Barry, age 73, of Belton, Missouri, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at his home.

A Celebration of Life Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at Cullen Funeral Home, 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083. A brief memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m.

Born in Kansas City, Missouri on January 12, 1946, Tim was the son of Joe Barry and Dorothy (Cassidy) Barry. He grew up with two sisters, Sue and Barbara. After high school, Tim joined the workforce and created a career for himself as a painter. In life Tim was blessed with two children, Phillip and Kelly. For many years Tim owned his own painting business with his cousin John Cassidy, Kelly Painting.

Tim enjoyed his work throughout life, he could create anything as he was a very crafty handyman. He also loved to spend time hunting and fishing. For many years, he was a trustee for the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Belton, Missouri. Also, for a number of years, Tim served his community as a Cass County Reserve Deputy.

Tim was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Dorothy Barry; and nephew Joseph Thornton.

He is survived by his two loving children, Phillip Barry (Tammy) and Kelly Nance (James); two sisters Sue Thornton and Barbara Satterfield; four grandchildren, Cody Barry, Zach Reynolds, Dylan Barry, and Jaymee Nance; three great grandchildren, Kingston Barry, Morgan Barry, and Jack Barry; and many cousins.

Tim’s family suggests that memorial contributions may be given to the American Cancer Society, 1100 Pennsylvania Ave., Kansas City, Missouri 64105 or St. Luke’s Home Care & Hospice, 901 E 104th St. N 3000, Kansas City, Missouri 64131.
