The community of Hume wishes to extend their sympathy to the family of Agnes Shryer of Prescott, KS. Agnes not only left a wonderful legacy in Prescott with her work through the Food pantry, but she also spread her love and talent for helping people in the Hume area. She will be greatly missed by family and friends and we send our thoughts and prayers.
Well the past few weeks and currently what we are going through has been different from anything we have ever experienced. There have been cancellations of activities, not knowing whether they will be made up or not. School kids are suddenly realizing they kind of like school, parents are realizing how awesome the teachers and administration are. And as a whole what we always took for granted we are realizing it is tough when it isn’t at our fingertips. Sometimes we have to look for the positive in this crazy mixed up world we are living in right now and don’t dwell on the negative so much. Families are now spending more time together without the hustle and bustle of being somewhere on time or worrying that you might miss that practice. We are learning that we can still have church services together via the internet or TV. We keep those in our hearts and prayers that have been struck with the virus and the hardship that it has caused those families and pray that this will soon be over. We soon will be able to get that real hug instead of the virtual hug. Stay safe and remember keep the distance.
