A private family Funeral Mass will be held at St. Sabina Catholic Church.
George was born in Fairmount, Missouri in 1933 to George Hirt Sr. and Elizabeth (Schuler) Hirt. George served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and later received his Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of St. Louis. George worked as a managing engineer for Black and Veatch for forty-three years before retiring as a Managing Partner.
In 1956 George and Norma J. (Waterworth) were joined in marriage. Together they were blessed with four children, Chris, Vicki, Marc, and Stacy.
He leaves behind his loving wife of sixty-two years, Norma J. Hirt; three children, Vicki Jones, Marc Hirt and Stacy Brown; six grandchildren, Jeremy Jones, Tara Orstad, Ali Hirt, Georgia Brown, Lizzie Brown and Gus Brown; and eleven great grandchildren, Aurora, North, Elle, Scarlett, Liv, Avery, Montana, Mickey, Izabelle, Luke and Lauren.
