The City of Butler has created a temporary utility payment extension program that will allow persons or businesses that have a delinquent utility account to “Catch Up”. This is a one-time chance for delinquent bills that occurred during the Missouri Governor’s Emergency Declaration (March 13, 2020 to May 4, 2020) to have the opportunity to catch-up again.
In order to participate in this program, you must contact the City Office no later than June 19, 2020 to set up a payment plan to pay your delinquent bills. Failure to contact City Hall by the deadline will result in the disconnection of service on June 22, 2020, for nonpayment.
While participating in this program, you will be required to still pay your current bills when you normally would, as they come due. The program will simply divide your current delinquent account amount over six (6) months resulting in six (6) equal payments added to your current billing. This new amount (current bill + delinquent account payment) must be paid by the 20th of each month starting July 2020. Failure to pay by the 20th will result in disconnection of services.
Please understand that this is only a temporary extension program. As of the June 1st billing, we will revert to our previous policy of service disconnection and penalties.
To sign up for the program, please call (660) 679-4013 or stop by City Hall located at 22 West Ohio Street, Butler, Missouri 64730.
