Bates County Sheriff's Office awarded new grant

On 7/20/20 the Bates County Sheriff's Office was awarded a Grant from the Missouri Department of Public Safety for Next Generation 911. The Grant's purpose was to purchase hardware, software and hosted serviced for the agency to enable Next Generation 911 calls that are received, processed or dispatched.

The total project cost is $147,339.42. The Grant is a matching grant with the Department of Public Safety award of $88,403.53 and the Sheriff's Office portion of $58,935.69. The project will be completed by the first quarter of 2021 with the Sheriff's Office matching portion of the grant being split between this years budget and budget year 2021.

The grant will purchase an additional dispatch station in the dispatch center along with a comprehensive computer aided dispatch software program.
"Having a good foundation is important to keep moving our dispatch services into the next phase of technology. We continue to hire quality personnel and strive to provide them with the best technology, equipment and training so that we can offer our citizens the service at a level they expect" says Sheriff Anderson.
