Osage Valley Electric Cooperative (OVEC) held their 82nd Annual Meeting on August 20, 2020 at their office headquarters in Butler, Mo. Due to COVID-19, the OVEC Board of Directors made the difficult decision to alter how the meeting was held this year. No “In-Person” attendance was allowed, but member participation was encouraged through mail-in and online voting. OVEC had 957 members register for the meeting. A $10.00 electric credit was given to all registered members to be applied to their September electric bill. Additional electric credit certificates were also drawn from the members that registered. Hans and Heather Eickhorst and Kelly Reynolds were each the lucky winners of a $250.00 electric credit certificate.
The first items of business were the approval of the 2019 Annual Meeting minutes and the approval of the proof of publication of the official 2020 Annual Meeting notice. Both items were approved by the members via online and mail-in voting. The next item on the agenda was the election of three members to the Cooperative’s Board of Directors. OVEC’s legal counsel reported the results of the election, which was verified by the Credentials Committee via conference call prior to the Annual Meeting. All three incumbent directors were re-elected to the Board to serve a three-year term. They were Jack Baker, and David Rapp, both representing Bates County, and Paul Ross, representing Henry/Johnson Counties. Mr. Kenneth Ragland briefly addressed the board and presented documents to the legal counsel.
There being no further business to address, President Steuck called for a motion to adjourn, which was seconded and carried.
