On 9/8/20 around 8:10pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Vernon County along with Vernon County Sheriffs Deputies responded to a one vehicle accident on Missouri 54 Highway around 1 mile west of Dederick in rural Vernon County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2017 Ford Escape driven by 42 year old William D. Reese of Winston Salem, North Carolina struck a deer in the roadway.
A passenger in the vehicle 46 year old Chasity T. Carmichael of Belton, Missouri sustained minor injuries in this accident and she was transported by ambulance to Nevada Regional Medical Center for treatment.
The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene of the accident by Southeast Auto.
