On Saturday, June 5, 2021 at 1:00 A.M., Benton County Central Dispatch received an 911 telephone call reference to a residential structure fire at 1636 Estates Dr., Warsaw, Missouri.
Warsaw Fire Protection District and the Warsaw Police Department responded to the scene to find the rear of the residence engulfed in flames. Responding units were advised that the homeowner may still be in the residence.
It was discovered the homeowner, whose name is being withheld until family can be notified, had perished in the fire. The homeowner had re-entered the residence with a fire extinguisher in an attempt to extinguish the flames.
The Missouri State Fire Marshal was called to the scene to investigate the circumstances of the fire. At this time there is no suspicious circumstances and the investigation is still on-going.
This was a tragic loss of life and our thoughts and prayers go out to the family.
